Wow, a new year

Wow, a new year already. It is hard to believe that the year has flown by so fast. It definitely an interesting year for me. not sure where to begin. Guess I'll start from the beginning. It was a cold and dark place with nothing and yet everything. Then there was this loud voice saying " Let there be light ", oh wait not that beginning my bad.

The year 2010 started off as usual, work, family, and life in general being a complete disarray, as with everybody lives. Anyway, I had found out that there was a position opening up in ICU at the hospital I work at. so I put in my request for a transfer ( since I am a nurse ). I heard nothing for a couple of months, and out of the blue, i was called by HR to set up an interview with that respective clinical manager. A few days later I interviewed. Personally I did not think I did well as I was battling a head cold, the area I was currently working in was very chaotic that day, and I had to urinate badly, but there was no time to tinkle prior to the interview. Besides there were a number of much more qualified persons applying for the job, so I felt my chances were slim to none. After the interview, I had the distinct impression the manager was just going through the motions, and had already knew who was to be hired for the job. A few more months passed with no word whatsoever, when in the middle of report one morning in June, got a call from HR advising me I got the job. My heart just dropped through the floor and the elation i felt must have been palpable, since my peers just looked at me with their eyes popping out. When I asked what was wrong, they all seemed to say at once that the grin I had said it all. Guess one could have flown a 747 in between the corners of my mouth. So I started in ICU in early October, been there since. Yup things move slow around there in case you hadn't noticed.

Also in 2010, my son got a clean bill of health from the pediatric neurologist, the doc said that since there was no problems, he didn't need to come back. A little background, my son has a idiopathic seizure disorder. This means he has seizures with an unknown cause. S he was haveing no seizures the doc took him off the medications in order to evaluate him. Even with no meds no seizures yippee!!!!!So a big expense gone there.

Also during the year I decided to start a few web sites and blogs
http://iowafishing.webs.com
http://iowacamping.webs.com
http://cedarrapidsbars.webs.com
http://iowasuxthoughts.blogspot.com
http://iowacampingandfishing.blogspot.com
http://campingandfishing.wordpress.com

The reason for which is obviously to make money. I haven't made any with my websites, but these things take time, but I have made some with the three blogs. I have made no secret that some of the entries are sponsored ( paid ). Some might ask why even disclose that they are sponsored. The simple fact is, it is the ethical thing to do, not to mention the legal thing to do. so these 5 sites and work occupy all my time. When I am not able to make blog entries, I am working on my web sites or at work. So in essence that was my year. Lets see if this year will be as interesting and hopefully profitable
